A beautiful and extremely fine knotted antique Senneh Rug in all-over
design, made by Kurd's who live in or around the town of Senneh. Senneh Carpets
have a long tradition of carpet making and are one of the most sought-after
carpets in the Persian stream. The Senneh weavers use a special tool not unlike
a huge claw to beat the weft strands together until they form an exceptionally
compact foundation for the pile. this makes the rug extremely dense and heavy.
Senneh represent excellent value. Wool pile, Vegetable dyes. Circa 1940 Little worn.
